GF travel bag giveaway!

It's Summer so it's time to travel!  If you have CD or other gluten issues, you know it can be difficult.  The days of stopping at any restaurant or convenient store at any hour to feed yourself are pretty much over after diagnosis.  Now when you walk into a convenient store your choices are a little more limited, to say the least.  I find it a little difficult when I'm only an hour away from home for the day shopping.  I always take snacks with me popcorn, GFree crackers, banana chips, etc.  I do still dine out but it can get old fast since choices at restaurants are usually limited; and to be honest a lot of times employees just don't understand gfree even if they have a special menu.  Lately I've been quite unlucky at restaurants, I keep getting glutened so I'm a bit burned out.  One good thing, is that I've always Been the type of person to take snacks with me everywhere.  Another good thing is that I've never really cared for dining out but that's probably due to the fact that I always felt sick to my stomach.  I know taking a bag full of snacks with me makes my life easier, so I want to make one lucky persons life easier with a GF tote bag filled with all kinds of goodies!!!  Everything in this bag is safe even the sudoku book ;), the sugar daddy's are a Tootsie product so they are not only GFree but also peanut/tree nut free YAY!!!  Contest ends on Friday June 11th.  I will announce the winner on June 12th.

  9. I love love love these bars called "Think Thin" not because they are low in fat and calories, though they are, but because they're gluten free and the crunchy peanut butter flavor is so delicious! Being pregnant, sometimes a hunger strike happens unexpectedly, so I always have one (or two!) in my bag!

I am not celiac, but I do have a wheat intolerance, so I also eat Gluten Free. It's tough isn't it?

  22. I think it's the toughest when I travel or I'am just away from home for the day. But, I think the trouble is definitely worth it if GF makes you feel better.

My favorite snack in here is the Carmel Delights! Sooo good.

I'll be flying (moving) across the country next month and this blog reminded me I really need to start thinking of which GF foods to be bringing with me on the plane. Those carmel Delights are on the list for sure along with the Snyders GF pretzels.

    Love your blog :)

  31. Really enjoying following you on your blog and via Twitter :).

For Gfree snacks, the following are my go-to's when traveling:
    - Lara Bars
    - Lucy's chocolate chip or cinnamon thin cookies
    - Dried fruit & nut mixes from Trader Joe's
    - Udi's bagel with peanut butter

All easy to tote along and aside from the cookies have enough protein to keep me full during my travels.

  32. Funny story I have been following you on twitter for awhile and because I am Canadian I assumed your twitter name was NewfoundlandCeliac and your were a Canadian from Newfoundland. haha. Well I just came back from Las Vegas and my travel trip is to plan ahead. My daughter had a list of gf friendly restaurants and we didn't tried a few that were pretty good.
Also higher end hotels are a great place to find food because they seem to be able to cater to special diets better. So you don't have to stay there to eat.
Disney totally gets allergies, just ask for the chef in any restaurant there and they will be able to prepare you something to eat and it all tasted great.
My favorite snack food before cutting out gluten was pretzels and Glutino foods does a great one, I sometimes melt chocolate and dip them, numm numm, I always eat too much.
Well I could go on and on actually I think I might start a block for us Canadians. Loved reading yours. Thanks for the contest I hope I win.
